This month, we celebrated women all across the globe and their contributions to humanity throughout the many lives and generations we’ve spent on this good Earth. HAPI women were recently featured in The Atlantic for their steadfast willingness to make a difference in the country of the Philippines where secular and humane values are often at odds with the highly religious stance of most of its population.
International Women’s Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity.
In line with the International Women’s day last March 8, we also salute the steadfast and willing women volunteers of the Humanist Alliance Philippines, International. Brave mothers, sisters, wives and girlfriends. Responsible human beings who are working hard to make a difference for the betterment of all within the community against prejudice, bigotry, violence, inequality and indoctrination.

“An hour more,” I repeatedly murmured to myself. 90? 100? I counted again. 120 people managed to show up here. We were almost in disbelief! Someone might have read a quote on the internet that says, “Volunteers are not paid not because they are worthless but because they are priceless,” that much is true. Heartwarming support, generous donors and passionate volunteers are the ingredients in cooking fruitful and successful events. Recognizing all the people behind every plan is a must […]
The Humanist Alliance of the Philippines, International (HAPI) is currently planning another HAPI event in the Philippines for next year. Our organization is planning not just one event for October next year but three! Yup, TRIPLE HAPI EVENT on October 2018 in conjunction with Bacolod City’s annual Masskara Festival.
Bacolod, dubbed as the “city of smiles” will be in the spotlight next October for HAPI. It is also a welcoming and warm place where most of our officers live and work. Pretty much, a time for them to shine and show off their leadership and organizational skills.
