HAPI wins ‘Humanism at Work’ Award

Foundation Beyond Belief, a non-profit charitable foundation created to focus, encourage and demonstrate humanistic generosity, gave out an award, and announced the winners of their Heart of Humanism Awards on November 21, 2017, through their website. The awards recognized the outstanding community service of local groups who are part of the Beyond Belief Network program, and who made extraordinary contributions to compassionate humanism.

Humanist Alliance Philippines, International (HAPI) received the top award, ‘Humanism At Work’, for garnering the most volunteer hours in 2016. As the only international group, HAPI was recognized for its production efforts that focused on literacy and the environment.

Winners of other awards are as follows: Central Ohio United Non-Theists (Best Photo); Tri-State Freethinkers (Gimme Food and Shelter); Pikes Peak Atheists (Humanist Communication); Austin Humanists At Work (Eat. Sleep. Volunteer.); Flagstaff
Freethinkers (Backbone Volunteers); and South Texas Atheists for Reason (Rookie of the Year).

In addition to being eligible for the said awards, Beyond Belief Network groups are also eligible for perks such as shirts, and the opportunity to apply for grants for service projects. Grateful for the recognition, HAPI is ever more inspired to work hard in making our community better every day.
