On September 24, 2017, HAPI had its annual tree planting activity nationwide. Despite a recent change in leadership and fewer members than last year, the Cebu chapter of HAPI joined in on the event as well. The Cebu chapter decided to collaborate with the Cebu Spelunking Society, Mandaue City Comprehensive National High School (MCCNHS), and Rotaract Club of Cebu South in the event.

Approximately 60 people from these societies gathered together for this environmental eendeavor. The designated tree planting site was significantly far from Cebu city, so around 7 AM, the participants gathered at JY Square, a mall located in Cebu City, before going to Barangay Pung-ol Sibugay for the actual event. Thanks to Cebu Spelunking Society for providing the transportation, the participants were able head safely to the destination together.

A little before 9 AM, the participants arrived at Barangay Pung-ol and immediately began planting the guyabano seedlings which were sponsored by MCWD. The planting site was located on a mountain that had received rainfall days prior. Despite the difficult movement due to the wet soil, the participants were able to plant approximately 1000 guyabano seedlings. The participants remained optimistic and unfazed and then proceeded to the Barangay Hall activity center for a celebratory lunch before calling it a day.
