HAPI-PWD Feeding in Cebu

A special event for PWD (people with disabilities) in Consolacion, Cebu, Philippines.

On a sunny  and humid day on October 15, 2018, at 9:30 am, a group of lovely residents from Royale Cebu Estates in Casili, Cebu,  lovingly marched to a special school in Consolacion to treat some 30 special kids  to a delicious snack. They are Agustina Torres, Patricia Milton, Mira Paslon and a dear  friend of the trio. The location is a difficult walk because no transportation can get in that very tiny street on the way to the Consolacion SPED Center Elementary School.

The kids are  physically and mentally challenged,  but can still appreciate the  goodness of humanity . They were enthusiastic about the arrival of happy visitors clad in HAPI shirts with tetra pack juices and hamburgers on their generous hands. These foods are not usually served  to these kids who  have humble backgrounds,  and in fact, not able to taste these kind of treats on normal days. Their parents are also struggling to put food on their tables.

“HAPI is very committed to humanity. Giving and inspiring people from  all walks of life. Guiding and helping those who really need assistance. Thus, the aim of HAPI is humble – ensuring the welfare of mankind! We are always making a difference in the community. Enduring all the hard knocks of life,  may not as easy in words , but integrity will prevail. HAPI promotes encouragement and dedication to goodwill.” as per Patricia Milton, a HAPI-IC based in San Diego, California,  USA.

These acts of kindness and generosity stem from the humble beginnings of the Torres clan, who are mostly based in the USA. They just want to pay it forward,  because sharing abundance makes them HAPI and happy , especially sharing it to those who cannot repay them back.

Patricia and Agustina are Marissa’s blood  sisters. They vowed to make this a HAPI monthly event to create an impact to these kids who do not eat regularly. It is also a noble way to honor Mark Jethro, Marissa’s only son with Down’s Syndrome.

We want to make a better place in Cebu, than when we  found it.
