Bagoong for a Cause!
With the holiday season almost upon us, you can bet that HAPI is in a rather “giving” mood. It’s important to give back all year long, of course, but the Ber months make us extra-determined to put smiles on Filipinos’ faces! Luckily, we’re not the only people who want to do that – even business owners are known to feel extra generous during the holidays. Take Kith Baquiran, owner of J L J K Food and Beverage Stall, for instance! Recently partnering with HAPI to donate proceeds of their top-notch bagoong, they show that you don’t need to be a corporation to make a difference.
If nothing else, this should prove that the way to a Pinoy’s heart really is through their tummy.
Kith Baquiran, J L J K Food and Beverage Stall
“Since December is getting near, I had a little chat with HAPI Founder Ms. M about selling J L J K Food and Beverage products to HAPI and donating 10% of the proceeds to the organization’s future projects. I was more than “hapi” and excited for this project as I know that in this small way, our food stall can help out by making a lot of people happy.
Just to give you a background on the bagoong that we re-labelled with the HAPI logo, it is a family recipe that has been handed out from one generation to the next. There is a particular type of bagoong that we use to ensure high quality of the product that we will produce; it is just the right saltiness of the shrimp paste and correct processing of it must be met. Naturally, it is also sprinkled with love and made with the careful cooking techniques of Ka Nene.
Now to our coffee lover friends – our stall’s coffees are locally sourced from the mountains of the Cordillera region! We also use only freshly ground coffee beans. Yes, we only support local farmers especially in these dire times.
I would like to personally thank HAPI and donors for making this possible. I am optimistic that those who will receive these will surely enjoy these products. Again, thank you all. Stay HAPI!”
