Welcome to HAPI Office
July 21, 2019
Las Pinas City
Now we have an office!
This is great news for all of us and sure deserves a special day for all those who profess secular humanism as life-stance. HAPI has a permanent abode now, and opened its office at very long last! We have been waiting for this to take place since 2013, HAPI have had temporary office in Cebu and Alabang. So now look what we got ourselves, a decent working space, that is an actual HQ!
We decided to open the HQ on July 21, 2019, as we deemed it as the best date to inaugurate the office. Thanks to the new leadership, now the permanent location is in Las Pinas, through HAPI CFO Edwin Bulaclac, who offered their place to house our HAPI properties, hold HAPI meetings, and host occasional sleepovers. Our HAPI HQ is a humble office, nothing fancy, with amenities that can cater to our members’ basic needs. We have our own functional WIFI, cooking area, cooking and eating utensils, a fridge, and I think the most important- a coffeemaker. Yes we have all these, thanks to our super generous donors, Marissa Torres-Langseth, Mac Adornado, Angie Driskell, Steven Cross and others. HAPI HQ is open to every registered member who may want to stay for a few days. Yes, you can sleep in our office. We have sleeping mattresses, pillows, and blankets.
We made a statement
This is a bold announcement that we have another accomplishment. This is a testimony to the great cause of secular humanism in the Philippines, and HAPI just took it to the next level. Our new office gives us a visual or physical representation of where we are as an organisation. This is sending a very powerful message around the community as well about what the members of HAPI can accomplish. Now a new benchmark is set. This tells us that we are stronger than before, and we are moving forward as an organisation. We celebrate this milestone with gratitude to all those who have spared their valuable time. Big props to those who joined in this journey, in pursuit of making a difference in our society.
All-inclusive attendance
Participants from all places came to join us in this celebration. Disney Aguila and her boyfriend, Justin, came all the way from Bataan. Zandro Zamora, Brooksfield College owner, and his daughter also made it there, from Cavite. Then came Steven Cross and a bunch of friends, representing the southern part of NCR. Jhing Dedicatoria and her husband, from Alabang Muntinlupa, were also able to join the opening. HAPI Chapter head and Executive Secretary Claris Quezon and assistant chapter convener, Mutya Valenzuela, represented Central Luzon. Javan Poblador, HAPI Dumaguete and HAPI Youth Director, graced our event as well. Then we have the Ilonggo contingents, from Iloilo and Bacolod, Shane Dane Haro and HAPI LGBT Convener, PJ Baya. Also, Angie Driskell and her three kids. I can never forget their most interesting how-we-got-here story. It was that of a comic incidence. It deserves a separate article to tell the tale. Angie said she’s going to write about it anyway.
HAPI to invite you
