Kindness spread faster than COVID-19

The massive spreading of the current pandemic threatens the existence of every human being but never its capacity to bring out our true humanity. It’s been months now since our government has declared community quarantines and lockdowns throughout the country in hopes that it will keep us safe.

Another problem is expected to occur in this midst of crisis namely starvation. However, there are some of our countrymen that are filled with love to risk their own lives to save their fellow Filipinos. Our frontliners responded as soon as they knew that the virus was spreading already in the country.

There are health workers, our nurses, doctors whose patients are infected but rather than being scared, they faced it with the courage to continue serving the people. They continue to do their duty, serving the people to recover and save every person who falls victim to this deadly virus. And experts who are tirelessly studying and searching for a cure.

There are our men in uniform-our policemen and militaries who strictly implement the rules and guides us to keep away from infection. There are our social workers and volunteers who travel community to community to give goods and other necessities to live. There are companies, industries, and organizations that donated and find ways to extend their bits of help.

Here we are trying to help through the basic things from our home to avoid being infected like washing our hands frequently, practicing social distancing, stay at home, and wearing masks. It’s a big help not only for us but also for our frontliners.

We, Filipinos, find a way to contribute anything in any means. Others take time to tribute songs, video greetings, dances, poems, memes, to acknowledge their sacrifices, give thanks to lessening the burden of this crisis which gives hope to them. We are a Filipino who strengthens our fellow to have their courage to fight and win our battle.

It’s better to think that everyone’s doing their best they so that no one will not be left behind than blaming this mess to somebody. This is not the time for pinpointing but a time where we must look for something to help.

Take this as a problem that reminds us of who we are as a nation, a loving, caring, brave Filipinos that are ready to risk their own lives for those who need it the most, and that’s what binds us to unite.
