HAPI Stirs Up Action in Bulacan

Going by the dictionary, “action” pertains to the process of undertaking a task–usually with a specific objective in mind. Beyond being a mere concept, it serves as a verb for problem-solving and task execution. Humanist Alliance Philippines International (HAPI) is dedicated to solidifying its commitment to enhancing the local community through proactive action and careful consideration. On September 17, 2023, HAPI-Bulacan hosted a feeding program for the people and kids of Tramo North, Sto. Cristo, Pulilan, Bulacan, marking an extension of its previous feeding initiatives in locations throughout Bulacan.

Through the compelling force of kindness, HAPI has influenced the lives of individuals in a segment of the community that had previously remained unvisited, such as the mentioned location. Observing the collaboration and unwavering commitment of the volunteers was undeniably inspirational as they worked hard to provide nourishing meals comprising spaghetti, bread, and refreshing beverages to a hundred individuals in need. During the process, there were children who radiated laughter, smiles, and patience while waiting to receive their meals. In effect, HAPI extended support to the community and brought happiness to its community.

“These children live near the train tracks,” chimed Mutya Valenzuela, HAPI’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO), “and we found out that no one has come to their community to do humanitarian and educational activities which is very surprising as the population there is quite big, so we prepared nutritious foods for the people.”

The community displayed a significant interest in understanding the purpose and motivations behind HAPI’s involvement in community support. Ms. Valenzuela provided an explanation, stating that one of HAPI’s objectives is to empower vulnerable communities and furnish essentials to those in need. One of HAPI’s core aspirations is to establish a secure environment where individuals can freely express their emotions and not face the challenges of the world in isolation. Furthermore, the parents have extended a request for HAPI to return and organise educational programs tackling SOGIE, HIV/AIDS awareness, and many more in the upcoming times.

HAPI wishes to convey their appreciation to the volunteers, with a special mention of GO Humanity and their food security program, for their valuable support in making the heartwarming event possible. HAPI is dedicated to the ongoing mission of extending love and assistance to those who require it the most, and their assistance has the potential to bring about significant positive change in the lives of the people.
