In-Sight: Independent Interview-Based Journal, a Canada-based publication that operates in public interests rather than for profitable gains, has named the Founder and Chairperson Emeritus of Humanist Alliance Philippines, International (HAPI), Marissa Torres-Langseth, as new member of its Advisory Board, effective May 20th of 2018.
Publishing interviews, articles, and issues since the fall of 2012, In-Sight Journal is the first international independent interview-based journal that advances cultural, community, educational, moral, personal, and social value. It was founded by Scott Douglas Jacobsen, now its Editor-in-Chief and the author of some free and low-cost e-books. He is an interview columnist for Conatus News, and a writer for The Voice Magazine among other posts.
In-Sight Journal cited Marissa’s being a pioneer in establishing non-religious societies in the Philippines as basis for conferring the advisory title. Truly, Marissa is a trailblazer in promoting humanism and critical thinking through education and community outreach. She created the Secular Humanist Advocacy Development & Education (SHADE) program of HAPI so as to lay the foundations of her dream to build the first secular humanist school in the Philippines.
Marissa joins other advisors who are esteemed professors, scientists, medical practitioners, editors-in chief, philosophers and administrators in directing the future phases of design and development of In-Sight Journal.
Thus far, Scott has interviewed key personalities of HAPI in the recent years. These include Marissa herself; Jean Karla Tapao of SHADE; Lucille Hoersten of HAPI International Council – Germany; and Bryan Valentino of HAPI Bacolod among others.
