In fulfillment of its mission to “work in harmony with any institution — religious or non-religious — for the betterment of humanity”, the Metro Manila Chapter of Humanist Alliance Philippines, International (HAPI) signed a Memorandum of Agreement with Time Please on May 16, 2018. Signing the memorandum was HAPI Metro Manila Lead Convener Janice Buenaventura, and iVolunteer Philippines Executive Director Jan Bernard Tan.
Time Please is a nationwide family volunteering campaign by iVolunteer Philippines in collaboration with Globe Telecom and Disney Philippines. The campaign aims to provide Filipino families and groups with opportunities to volunteer for social change. Also, it seeks to build the capacity of grassroots organizations and to recognize the leadership of large non-profit groups.
Launching together with Disney’s new video streaming service, DisneyLife, Time Please started on May 25th at the Glorietta 2 Activity Center and will span three months of campaign until August 26th. Present at the launch were the whole Time Please team, representatives of other partner communities and McJarwin Cayacap, HAPI National Events Director and Public Relations Officer for Metro Manila and Luzon.
Much of the turnout at the 2nd HAPI Manila Bayside Clean-Up was expected to be because of Time Please. The quarterly coastal clean-up was the first volunteer activity created by HAPI on the Time Please portal. To see more volunteer activities, go here: https://timeplease.ph
While gaining volunteers and having advocacies promoted are rewards in themselves, Time Please will recognize the outstanding organizations at the end of the campaign. Also, a prize is waiting for the group with the most number of volunteer hour credits. The prize is an all-expenses-paid trip to Hong Kong Disneyland for four members — inclusive of roundtrip airfare, hotel accommodation for three days and two nights, three meals a day while in Hong Kong, tickets to Hong Kong Disneyland, and other exciting prizes. Rewards will also be given to other qualifying groups.
HAPI has always been a volunteer-engaging organization from the get-go. Volunteerism will always be the lifeblood of humanism because goodness comes much from action.
