Another successful and awesome event by HAPI-Leyte on humanism and humanitarianism done on Sept. 9, 2018 in Lingap, Leyte, Philippines, with Butch Yu as the Lead Convener. HAPI also promotes art as a means of humanism devoid of promoting a deity. It makes children express their individuality and encourages camaraderie amongst the volunteers.
Leyte, a small island of Central Maharlika, in a province which is an active thunderstorm area today, a union of artists, humanists, & Living Heroes, struggled through heavy rain & lightnings to render humanitarian aid: A Maharlika Day Care teacher, Ma’am Enriquita Barrientos, Fernando Yu Jr., LJay Hermosura, Arnel Bucles, Liza Marquez Ablen, Marie Car Managbanag Peralta, & the teacher & guidance of Lingap.
I concede I was close to crying, touched seeing all the pictures in the chat conference of the union, of all the good effort, remarkable compassion, & altruistic aid that was rendered to the abandoned street children of Lingap. Perhaps just a small thing for the Living Heroes, but which noble deed & efficacy are in depth & lasting. These less fortunate, wonderful children, could suddenly escape their despair & forget their daily struggle, knowing that they are never alone, that there are good people in this world, friends, who sincerely care. Positivity, hope, & joy in life are brought back to them on this day, proving the humble power of humanity, us being there for each other, with altruism, kindness, & love.
A humanitarian aid project In collaboration with RebelBlood – The Union of Artists of Maharlika, International, HAPI – Leyte Humanist Alliance, Black Deed Arts, Circle of the Living Heroes, Alpha Phi Omega Delta Delta, Ogmuk Maharlika Artist’s Association, Maharlika Artists and Writers Federation (MAWF).
To the wonderful children of Lingap, thank you so much for enabling us to also learn from you. We are so proud of your courage, patience, solidarity & all the goodness that each one of you strive to do every gift of time. Our respect, appreciation, & love.
In profound gratitude, with you in Solidarity.
