Someone might have read a quote on the internet that says, “Volunteers are not paid not because they are worthless but because they are priceless,” that much is true. Heartwarming support, generous donors and passionate volunteers are the ingredients in cooking fruitful and successful events. Recognizing all the people behind every plan is a must for Humanist Alliance Philippines, International (HAPI) so, last May 29, 2019, at Diotay’s Eatery, the HAPI-Bacolod and HAPI Junior gathered to also celebrate the birthday of the HAPI Founder/Emeritus/CMO, Marissa Torres Langseth, with a delightful dinner. Conversations and smiling faces are things you can hear and see at the table.
After the seafood feast, each volunteer was given their own certificates of appreciation for their skills, time, expertise, and selflessness as a valuable member of HAPI that led to the advancement of science, reason, and humanity itself. The certificates which were signed by HAPI Executive Director, Alvin John Ballares and Marissa Torres Langseth were received with countless thank you’s and appreciative smiles.
Conversations and discussions after that were overflowing. Looking back to the volunteers’ past projects with a nostalgic tone and also talking about their future events with a hopeful and determined mindset.
Appreciation is not just mere spending money for them, but respecting their time and talent, and all they did for humanity.
Mutual respect, dedication and love for humanity and HAPI are the cornerstone of volunteerism.
Again, only the best, finest and genuine people can stay and last in HAPI, the only non religious society in the Philippines with regular community outreach, chapters and international members.
We look forward to more events and activities to make a difference, to change the world, one child at a time, better yet, one community at a time.
We thank that we have indefatigable regular donors who support HAPI, like it is their own child.
