“Giving is not just about making a donation.
It’s about making a difference.”
When you have something that you are no longer using, please donate it to someone else.
When I heard that the children from the Aeta community of Mt. Haduan were in need of uniforms, I posted about it in our community town Facebook group and asked for their children’s old, pre-loved uniforms. And I was overwhelmed with their response.
Then I went to their homes (different village) to collect it, one by one. It’s difficult, especially now that we’re in the middle of a pandemic.Transportation is hard for us as we do not have a personal car.
But it was all worth it. I collected 58 old uniforms, which is enough for our Aeta kids. These uniforms had been altered as the design of their uniforms is slightly different from ours here in low land.
I felt bad for one girl as she cried and asked her mom why would she give away her school uniform? But when her mom explained to her that it will be for the better cause she personally handed it over me.
We know that people have a tight budget now due to pandemic. That’s why we asked for the old ones.
Thank you to all our beloved donors!
