“History will judge us by the difference we make in the everyday lives of children,” Nelson Mandela famously said, emphasizing that we should look out for future generations.

A new HAPI chapter blossomed last October 17, adding to the continuously growing and broadening the reach of the organization. HAPI Kids NutriCamp Cavite generously caters to 73 children that reside next to a river in their area. Jamie Martinez, HAPI Cavite Lead Convener, introduced them to HAPI and what it does for society. With this, they were able to learn that HAPI is an established group that cares and looks out for children who have a similar situation to them.

After Jamie’s educational talk, the kids were given delicious treats and snacks. Pure happiness radiated from every kid’s face! Martinez said that she was overwhelmed at the sight as the children are usually deprived of help.

With the resounding success of the first HAPI Kids NutriCamp, the HAPI people of Cavite did not waste any time dedicating a second event to sustain the hope they instilled in the children’s hearts. Last November 14, Jamie and other volunteers commenced a feeding program, serving the kids with spaghetti and other goodies which they were grateful to take. This event also doubled as a Halloween celebration!

HAPI is grateful and pleased with the help of Foundation Beyond Belief Network’s Food Security Program that made not only the NutriCamp possible but the inauguration of the new HAPI chapter as well.

Investing in and aiding our future generations will remind them that there is love and inspiration in every corner. With any luck, HAPI’s desire to assist the children will ignite a fire in them.
