There’s No Such Thing as a “Bobo”

Have you ever felt like you’re not good enough because you’re not excelling in a particular area? You’re not alone. Many of us struggle with feelings of inferiority when comparing ourselves to others. But what if I told you that you are exceptional in your own way?

The Theory of Multiple Intelligence says yes! It states that every individual is unique and talented in their own way. And what makes us special is that we’re all good at different things. There are many kinds of intelligence, not just academic ones. You may not enjoy speaking in front of people, but you might excel at writing. Our brains work in different ways, and we cope with various aspects of life in our unique manner. So calling someone “bobo” just because they’re not good at what you do is unfair and not true.

By appreciating what you bring to the world, you’ll inspire those around you to do the same.

Consider the people you admire. They often stand out not just for their academic achievements but for their unique talents. Have you ever met someone who lights up a room with their humor or someone whose empathy makes others feel understood? These are forms of intelligence, too! You will discover what makes you special by learning about and developing your strengths.  Think about what you want to do, like coding, making things, or simply figuring out how to solve problems in everyday life.  When you focus on what you love, you’ll feel content and confident.  It’s about using the qualities you have, not trying to fit into a narrow definition of “smart.”

Instead of feeling like a “bobo,” remember that you have your own unique skills that are ready to be found. The world needs people with diverse skills and perspectives. And by appreciating what you bring to the world, you’ll inspire those around you to do the same. Our voices can create a community where everyone feels that their unique contributions are valued and important. This isn’t just a dream; it’s possible. If we can all put aside our biases and work together, we can make this world a better place for everyone.

So, what’s the next step? Start now! Write down what you’re good at, whether it’s connecting with others, solving puzzles, or crafting beautiful articles like this. Share your talents with friends and family, and encourage them to do the same. When you feel like comparing yourself to others, pause and remind yourself that intelligence is diverse.
